| How
long will the auction run?
The auction will go live Sept.19th and run through Oct. 5th.
The drawing, which will be posted live at www.royalorderofstevenpage.com,
will be held the weekend of Oct 7th-9th. The final drawing
date will be posted here as well as at the ROSP site.
Where will the money go?
100% of the money collected goes to the American Red Cross
to aid their relief efforts. It’s tax-deductible and
helps out a great cause!
How do I make a donation?
Click on the banner and make your donation directly to the
Red Cross. They will send you an email confirmation which
will include your name, address, email, amount of donation,
and a transaction number. FORWARD this email directly to DaWezl@aol.com
and note where you would like to apply your tickets. (Note:
c+p confirmations will not be accepted as proof, it must be
forwarded directly from the Red Cross email.) Donations must
be made during the period from 9/19-10/5 to count for auction
tickets.
How will I know that my confirmation note has been
received?
You will receive a confirmation directly from me (DaWezl@aol.com)
within approximately 24 hours, depending on the amount of
bids made on a given day. I will specify the amount received,
as well as the items that your tickets have been applied to.
If any of this information is wrong, please reply to this
email to correct it.
How will I bid for specific items?
When you forward your confirmation email, make a note of the
way you would like your tickets distributed. For example,
Susan would write: Item #2 – 3 tickets Item #7 –
2
I just want to make a donation—I don’t need to
get any tickets.
That’s fine, and we are truly grateful for your assistance
towards a good cause. But, even more fun is when you go onto
one of the BNL boards and find someone who doesn’t have
money to bid, and assign your tickets to them! You end up
doing TWO good deeds! If you would like to assign your tickets,
just make a note of it on the form, and you will receive further
instructions on how to assign the tickets to another person.
Can I change my mind about the items I’ve bid on?
Until the auction closes on the 5th, most changes WITHIN
REASON can be accommodated. Email me at DaWezl@aol.com to
discuss. After the 5th, the actual drawings will be physically
prepared, so no changes can be made.
What are the restrictions on the Signed Wine Bottle?
For legal reasons, this particular item is restricted to bidders
over the age of 21, and to US residents only. The winner will
be asked to supply proof of age. While the value of the item
is due to its value as a collectible, and not because of the
contents of the bottle, we must abide by all applicable laws,
including the manner of shipping.
I only have $20 to bid right now. What if I get $80
next week?
If you donate additional amounts, you are credited for your
total overall donation, so in this instance, you would have
25 additional tickets to apply to items.
I live in the UK. Can I bid?
If you live outside of the US, you may bid on any item with
the exception of the Signed Wine Bottle. There will be no
additional charge for shipping to other countries. Donations
must be made in US$ however. If you have any requests/concerns
for tax deductions, please contact me directly.
Wasn’t the last auction done on Barenaked.Net?
Yes. Shaun and Andy are having some technical difficulties
right now, and as a result, we had to find a new home for
the auction pages. It’s still being done as part of
the BN.Net community.
How will I know if I win?
Winners will be notified via email immediate after their names
are drawn. The email will specify who will be shipping your
item, and will provide a contact email address for that person.
Please make sure that the email you enter on the form is one
that you can receive mail at. While every attempt will be
made to establish contact prior to the drawing via the confirmation
email, we cannot be held responsible if the email provided
is non-functioning.
What’s this I hear about 2nd Chance Prizes?
It’s true! A small number of additional prizes are drawn
from all of the tickets entered. These are surprise items,
and may or may not have a BNL connection.
I have a great item! Can I donate it to the auction?
Once the auction goes live on the 19th, it’s too hard
to add major items to the auction. If the item you have is
valuable, you can either set up an auction on Ebay using MissionFish
to donate the winnings directly to the Red Cross, or you can
keep an eye out to see if we do another auction in the future.
If the item is on the smaller side, it would make a great
2nd chance prize. Email me at DaWezl@aol.com if you are interested.
Is the drawing going to be webcast?
Probably not. I’m not saying “No”, but it’s
unlikely, as it’s hard enough to set up all the drawings,
plus I don’t have a web camera. If you are set upon
this being fully live, and you are within 40 minutes of Hartford,
drop me a line and we’ll chat.
