Wind Me Up...

Don't the boys know I have to vacuum today? Seriously.

They are looking for people to do air guitar to be included in their new video. So of course I'm much more interested in this than in cleaning house. While I'm surrounded by little tumbleweeds of doggie hair (which gather in less than 24 hours--it's not like I've TOTALLY abandoned cleanliness), and a bunch of newspapers that need recycling, all I can think about is what I'd like to do for this.

Oh...and did I mention that it happens to be GORGEOUS today?! No wonder I have the healthy death-like pallor of an artist. I'd rather be inside working on stuff than outside basking! I'll warn you now...by January, I am going to be blindingly pale.

My RARE child...

Anyone familiar with www.sybermoms.com (one of the greatest boards I've ever hung out on) knows that only the LUCKIEST parents have RARE children. RARE, I tell you!

The other day, my lil' guy, enticed by the big T-rex on the cover, began a campaign to see Jurassic Park. While he's seen a ton of Discovery Channel specials with dinosaurs fighting each other, ripping flesh from carcasses, and even some tastefully shot dinosaur reproduction (is my child the only one who draws his sauropods with egg chutes coming down to the ground?), I still felt uneasy that the scenes of people being chomped in half and kids terrorized by velociraptors might just be a little too much for him. Still he persisted in his campaign, and since he's not prone to any sorts of regular childhood fears, we figured we'd give it a shot. (He's also well-versed in how movies use special effects, living with two animators, so he knows the dinosaurs aren't real)

Back in Business...

I'm back and blogging again!

Shortly after the last concert, I went through a long protracted stretch of personal misery which isn't worth cataloguing online. Needless to say, I've made a number of changes in my life, not the least of which is a brand-new job.

Now that I'm back to being a happy soul, I'll blog some more. BTW, I'm still going to Dave at the Angry Chair for my haircuts, and he still ROCKS!!!

The Pink Life!

Finally have some time to post an update! I had a fabulous time at the two shows--some pictures of the pink hair are up in the auction area. I also was able to get a picture with the band at the Acoustic Cafe (I'm on the far right)

The pink hair has been a really interesting thing to live with. While there are a few "Why did you cut your hair?!!!" comments from those who think that women should only have long hair, the majority of comments have been resoundingly positive. A surprising number of folks have even insisted that I continue with the same color or experiment with other colors moving forward.

Last Post Before Barenakedness!!!

Running out the door in about 90 minutes to begin my BNL day! I will be going and getting a final styling on my hair (which I absolutely LOVE), and then heading down to Mohegan for the Acoustic Cafe. I still can't believe I won tickets--I have a long history of sucking at radio call-in contests.

I just have to say, I can't get over how great Dave and the whole Angry Chair crew was. The haircut is fabulous, and the color is amazing--not as bright as I might have imagined at first, but so layered and deep. He is a true artist with hair. I'm definitely going to make the trek down there for all of my haircuts!!!

Running out the door!

It's time to go get my hair cut and dyed! :D I'm actually not nervous about it at all, even though it's definitely the craziest thing I've done in a long time.

Tomorrow I will be getting to Mohegan early, since I won tickets to the Acoustic Cafe at 1pm. Last night I thought I would never win, since in ONE call-in I was caller 1, 2, 7 & 8, when you had to be 9. Today I picked up the phone, and found out I was the lucky one on the first try!!

Photos will be added as the weekend goes on! Keep an eye out for them!

Getting close!

Today is my last day at work before the concert, and b/c of that, I have a to-do list that seems to be a mile long. Hopefully it will make the day go by quickly. In addition to buttoning up as many projects as possible before the long weekend, I have all sorts of errands to take care of before the show. Stupid things like "buy a thermal top to wear underneath T-shirt b/c Mohegan Arena is *always* freezing", and "get nail polish remover in case I hate the nail polish I bought..."

I spoke with Dave at the Angry Chair again, and it sounds like we are going to have a LOT of fun with the haircut. I've given him a lot of freedom to do something totally fun with the cut--you really can't go pink if you are going to keep a boring style. As I've said to many people around here, I'm not worried about the pink, as I am weirded out by the fact that I will also be blonde for a while! Strange what freaks us out, isn't it?!
